SAVOYAI TERRACE, where refreshing drinks and delicious food await you alongside the spectacular panorama
The cosiest terrace in Budapest with delicious cocktails, fine wines, beer specialities and breathtaking panorama 365 days a year
Where history is almost touching you
Did you know?
The Savoy Terrace is not only special because of its breathtaking panorama.
The name of the terrace comes from Jenő Savoyai, the famous commander of the reconquest of Buda. His statue in front of the National Gallery was commissioned by the city of Zenta from József Róna. But despite a lottery, they could not pay for it.
The first time it was exhibited without a pedestal was in 1899 in front of the Museum of Fine Arts during the Spring Exhibition. It was moved to its present location in front of the Palace in 1900. Damaged in 1944-45, it was demolished in 1968.
Today, in the shadow of this robust memorial, you can not only savour the significance of history, but also enjoy excellent street food and elegant cocktails.
